Fashionably Savvy: Fashion Music Mashup

It’s no secret that there’s a relationship between fashion and music. Fashion is often inspired by a song or a sound or an era of music. For example, urban designers like Sean John, Rocawear, House of Dereon, and Phat Farm were born out of a necessity to represent the lifestyles that are prevalent in the hip-hop and pop music communities. Roberto Cavalli designs lots of long flowing evening gowns, inspired by the flowing melodies of R&B’s elite females like Whitney Houston, and Mariah Carey. In that same respect, there is music inspired by the lifestyles represented in various forms of fashion. Songs like Vogue by Madonna represent a more haute couture style, while songs like Stepped on my J’z and Nike Boots are inspired by designer foot fashion.
