2x Grammy nominated singer, songwriter and producer Keri Hilson hit the stage at the Rachael Ray show yesterday and sang an acoustic version of the smash hit Knocks You Down. I’m definitely feelin this version but I’m a fan of acoustic guitar-type music anyway. Check out the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards this Sunday to see if MISS KERI BABY wins! Read the rest of this entry »

INDIE ARTIST: Zymica Frazier – I Want U
Indie Artist Week is going strong and here’s Zymica Frazier, an R&B singer/songwriter with her joint I Want You. Let her know what you think of the track. I think it’s cool, but I’d love to hear more of her vocals and something that displays her full range. Nice track though! Bio and listen after the jump…
INDIE ARTIST: Rich McMichael – All Over The World
Here’s a joint from indie artist Rich McMichael. To be honest, the beat is kinda hot, but I’d re-work some of the lyrics to flow a bit better. Otherwise he has a cool sound. Check him out after the jump… Read the rest of this entry »
Ryan Leslie ft. Kevin Black – Shake Them Thangs
Ryan Leslie is hard at work on album #3 Les Is More, which he announced about two weeks ago. This is a bit of a new sound for R-Les, not nearly as mellow and smooth as his other stuff. Now I’ll admit, I’m the first one to call out Mr. Leslie for all his stuff sounding the same, but don’t compromise your artistic ability just to get mainstream or club appeal. Not feelin this at ALL!! Read the rest of this entry »
NEW Music from Lyfe Jennings: Busy
Story of my life. I find myself always too busy to make time for “other people” in my life. Dope concept, wack hook. I cringed when it played through the first time. I get the effect he’s going for, but all artists can’t pull that off. Keep it simple Lyfe, that hook needs to be re-worked. Overall the song isn’t strong enough for me… Read the rest of this entry »
Ludacris ft. Rick Ross and Twista – How Low (REMIX)
Rick Ross and Twista join Luda on the remix to his new club banger How Low from the forthcoming Battle of the Sexes album with Shawnna. It’s just a dope ass remix, simple as that. “Album numero siete, get ready for the Battle of the Sexes” – Luda! Read the rest of this entry »
NEW MUSIC from Sade – Skin
I’d be a blessed man if I could wake up to Sade singing to me every morning. Skin is a new joint from her forthcoming album Soldier of Love which will be heading our way next month (review coming soon). Glad to see she can still deliver the mellow hits… Read the rest of this entry »
VIDEO: Mariah ft. Nicki Minaj – Up Out My Face (Remix)
Uhhh, this video is lame as hell. Mariah attempts to jump on the Barbie train (a trend I’m sure she wishes she had re-started) while Nick Cannon directed this clip for Mariah’s latest single from the forthcoming Angels Advocate remix album, hittin stores March 23. At the end all I can think of is Target and a halftime show. I think I’m just a grown ass man that’s tired of Barbies. I didn’t like the original version of this song either. VIDEO: Mariah Carey ft. Ne-yo – Angels Cry (REMIX)
Soooo Mariah REALLY IS putting out a remix album. It’s entitled Angels Advocate, and I’m betting all these “leaked” remixes will show up on there. This is the best out of all the ones I’ve heard so far, though Inseparable with Trey Songz is dope too! Elements of this video made me reminisce back to One Sweet Day and I remember that Mariah has done some amazing duets. EUREKA! She should really do a DUETS album… Read the rest of this entry »
VIDEO: Usher – Daddy’s Home
This single has grown on me, it’s still not the hit I was hoping for but the video is really fly so I guess that counts for something. Flexible, limber ladies that dance… NICE! As for Raymond vs. Raymond the album, you can bring Daddy home March 30th. Read the rest of this entry »
