Wale can’t seem to keep from offending his fans, so maybe he should stick to rapping about things he KNOWS about. Case in point, one line in the song says “she pledged red and white, shawty lemme see ya diamonds…” but in the followup line he says “I got a pink and green girl she don’t even fly Delta”. Ummm… hey Wale: Deltas are red and white (crimson and cream, to be exact). But anyway I got a call from my best friend, a member of Delta Sigma Theta, who was offended because Wale seems to make these statements based on stereotypes about the Black Greek-Letter Organizations – specifically that AKA’s are the “pretty girls” but the way his lyric is phrased, is he inferring that Deltas are not? What are your thoughts?

Green women dont fly delta cause they dont believe wasting all of that fuel is good for the ozone layer and global warming..etc. And all of us went to college know Deltas and AKA’s didnt kick it. So its a pretty clever pun if you ask me. Think outside the box folks!

i agree with the 2 comments before me…i dont think its that serious for fans to get upset. i dont think he was dissing the deltas…its just a punch line. “pretty girls” is a logo and saying that AKA’s have and/or is reffered to as so he said it. this is not him saying deltas arent pretty. those who thought way too much into the song need to just calm down and not be so sensitive!
It’s not a big secret that AKAs are known as pretty girls with the twenty pearls. AKAs are always the prettiest, not that Delta’s arent.! You guys are looking into the song waayyyy to much!
ummm AKA’s are definately not always the prettiest hun! I’m a Delta and I’m bad(had to get a little conceited) so is my line, but my bestfriend is a K and she been turning heads along with me since we wee kids. Basically what I am saying is if the individual is bad all by themselves that’s what it is. Nobody is the “prettiest” my friends and I been silver dollars f that dime stuff since inception.
I don’t think he was saying that Delta’s aren’t pretty at all. He says he has a Delta and then he says later he has an AKA. I think he was tryna show both sororities love. I think we should cut him a break.

I got a pink and green girl and she NEVER flies Delta… meaning, the pink and girl chick is a pretty girl and the Delta chick is not …. I was a big Wale fan, and now he can kick rocks!!! Its not that serious, Deltas are officially crimson and creme but if you ask someone who is not familiar they will reply that Deltas wear red and white cause that is the colors that you see them wear in supplement to their official colors. He says let me see your diamonds cause the delta pyramid is close to the roc-a-fella diamond hand sign. He was stating that both AKA and Deltas are pretty girls.
I don’t think he was dissing the Deltas, I mean I’m sure some Deltas are gonna be mad cause he said red and white instead of crimson and cream but just by mentioning them in this song he’s saying they’re Pretty Girls
