Someone… somewhere… has unlimited faith in Marques Houston’s career. I, on the other hand, do not. I am a realist, and reality says that if a Rick Ross feature can’t save your track, you’re doomed. Houston’s career lacks, above everything else, originality and creativity. It’s almost like he sits back, waits for new trends/new sounds, and then copies them. I agree with you on his originality. I think he is trying to what he can to “stay alive” in the music game and if that means mimicking what’s hot at the moment, that’s what he will do. And he isnt the first and only artist to do so.
As far as the song, I don’t think its bad at all. Its not one of his best, but not a bad song.
I think Marques doesn’t know which direction he wants to take his music. After Immature, he really hasn’t found his sound as a solo artist. He has some songs that I do love, (okay maybe like 2 or 3) but that’s about it.
