In preparation for the release of his new album MusiqInTheMagiq, Musiq has begun a series of Webisodes and delivers the first one below. In the video, Musiq speaks on the expansion of his sound and venturing into other styles and types of music. He also gives the lowdown on a few soulful tracks from the album including Do We Have To and Medicine. Of the latter he says the record
“takes a different approach, using music as medicine… Sometimes people just need that moment to themselves. I wanted to soundtrack that moment.”
The new album will feature some of his classic soul/neo-soul style while admittedly adding some tracks with more universal (pop) appeal. Be sure to check back for more updates on MusiqInTheMagiq, which will be available in stores and digital outlets May 3rd!
