“If ya lookin for me you can catch me (hot spot), cameras flashin…”
Keri Hilson hosted the very exclusive Moët-Rosé Lounge in ATL this past weekend to hang out after a stop on the I Am Still Music 2 Tour. Before poppin’ a few bottles herself, the beautiful singer and songwriter took a few minutes to talk to Sound-Savvy about the tour and what’s coming up for her. Though ATL is her hometown, the weather seemed to dampen the crowd a bit. “ATL’s a very tough crowd, in general, for all artists…” The show fell victim to some pretty bad wind and rain, but hometown love is always good.
“There are things that I would love to shoot, and I think I’m going to have to take matters into my own hands…” she said when pondering the next videos from her sophomore album No Boys Allowed (in stores now), but we did agree that one of our mutual favorites needs a visual. Makes you wonder what kinda pushback she’s getting from her label, and. She’s already released 4 videos from this album, including Pretty Girl Rock, One Night Stand, Breaking Point, The Way You Love Me, and the latest single Lose Control.
Looking ahead, Keri is anticipating a return to songwriting – the avenue where she built her buzz prior to stepping into the limelight. Who she’s writing for, for now, shall remain a mystery. “I’ve been asked to write again, for other artists. I don’t wanna say who cause I don’t wanna jinx anything but…” And with hits already penned for the likes of Usher, Mary J. Blige, and Britney Spears we can rest assured, it’s gonna be major!
