Musically, this was the highlight of yesterday’s big game for me, as Kelly Clarkson delivered a stunning version of our national anthem, ‘The Star Spangled Banner‘. I only have one thing to say to that: NFL, what took you so long? Kelly was the 4th Idol winner to open the big game while she was the first to take the big title. Clad in a simple black dress, Clarkson was joined by a children’s choir and gave what I feel is a rendition that will be talked about for years. If her version wasn’t perfect, it was pretty close to it. And you can’t go wrong with the kids behind you, everyone knows that. I couldn’t hear a single bad note, there were no flubbed lyrics and Clarkson still managed to put her own flavor on it. Before this video gets snatched, check it out courtesy of SheKnows.
