More unreleased content from Ginuwine, joint sounds kinda nice! Last year’s A Man’s Thoughts was an okay album but pretty much fizzled sales-wise and didn’t make much of an impact. In fact, due to its lack of major promotion most people didn’t even know he released a full length album last year. Kinda sad really, Ginuwine’s appeal has faded over the years though he still makes good music. Check out his new joint… Read the rest of this entry »

Ginuwine – Sex Partner
Well, so much for taking the subtle approach. If you want something go for it, right? I wonder how many fellas are gonna try this line after this song… there’s gonna be a lot of hurt feelings… on both sides of the gender scale! Well, what do u think of this joint?

Album Review: Ginuwine – A Man’s Thoughts
Artist: Ginuwine
Album: A Man’s Thoughts
Release Date: 6.23.09
A Man’s Thoughts is the highly anticipated sixth album from Ginuwine. This album definitely marks Ginuwine’s comeback to the world of R&B. Even though he’s been gone for a while he’s back to prove that he still has what it takes. As a veteran in this game, his influence can be heard in the newer artists such as Pleasure P, Mario, Chris Brown, Omarion and just about every young male singer out.
Interlude – During the intro he thanks his true fans for supporting his 13 year career and dedicates the album to them.
Show Off – This piano-laden track easily demonstrates his vocal ability. The beginning would lead you to believe that it’s a slow burner, until about 5 bars into it. The beat totally flips and becomes a dance track. It reminds me of a Day 26 track as he sings about telling his lady to show off her beauty.
Trouble Featuring Bun B – This seems forced to me for some reason. Bun B saved this one from being skipped over. It’s a good song but something is off. It’s beat-driven and dance worthy nonetheless.
Last Chance – This is the first slow burner of the album. Here he croons about doing whatever he has to do to win her love, if it’s his last chance. This is genuine Ginuwine here.
One Time For Love – On this piano acoustic track he sings of the trials of love, both good and bad. A beautiful song, lyrically and instrumentally.
Open The Door – A kind of funky little track as he metaphorically asks his young lady to open the door to her heart.
Get Involved Featuring Timbaland and Missy Elliott – He teams up once again with Timbaland and Missy on this house-influenced dance track. This is a great dance track, but can wane on you after a while.
Orchestra- Accompanied by a beautiful piano solo, he compares his love making to that of an orchestra. The instrumental seems a little too busy for this theme of the lyrics and title but still an okay track.
Touch Me – takes me back to the old Ginuwine with its old school feel. It’s either the simplicity of the track or the melody, I’m not sure which. Here he swoons as he loses his mind beneath her touch.
Lying To Each Other – On this overly-synthesized track he sings of the woes of relationships and how all they do is argue, but lie to each other saying how happy they are in the broken relationship just to make it through and enjoy those hot nights – a story most people can relate to or have gone through at some point in a relationship.
Even When I’m Mad – Here he explains that regardless of how mad he is or what happens that he will be there to take care of her and has her back. “Even at your worst, I gotta put you first. We’ve come too far to put this in reverse.”
Bridge To Love Featuring Brandy – Drum and bass heavy track about not being afraid to cross that bridge called love. They sound nice together. Both of their voices compliment the track.
Used To Be The One – On this track he asks how he can make his relationship better and get back to being the better man he was before. Not one of my favorites on the album. The track is a little too busy for my taste.
Show Me The Way - A beautiful melodic love song about being in love and loving it.
Overall, this album proves that he still has what it takes and though I don’t think he’ll win over the younger crowd that may not know of his earlier work, he doesn’t disappoint his loyal fans.
I give A Man’s Thoughts 3.5 out of 5 platinum headphones.
New Video: Ginuwine – Last Chance

Here’s a comeback I’m especially looking forward to… Last Chance is the first single from Ginuwine’s new comeback album, entitled A Man’s Thoughts, slated for release on June 2. It seems that after all these years, Ginuwine still has what it takes to make a hit R&B record. Check out the cameos from Tyrese and the lovely Lisa Raye in the video. Along with his vocals, the slick choreography proves he hasn’t lost his step either. I’ve heard a few more cuts off album # 6 for Ginuwine and I’m thinking this is gonna be one hell of a comeback. For now, here’s his latest video…
MindStream Topic: Dating Do’s and Don’ts
1. Know what you want out of the situation in and be honest. No one demonstrates this better than Musiq Soulchild, but not just on one track, he gives you two. On his very first single, Just Friends, he takes the nice guy approach of just kickin it with a nice shawty and letting it flow from there. If that’s not the way you wanna go, check out one of his more recent joints B.U.D.D.Y. an anthem about the beauty of being friends with benefits.
2. Ladies this one’s for you: keep it real with your heart, and don’t play us with the rebound game. The #2 joint on this week’s countdown is Danity Kane with Damaged. Although the topic makes for a nice song, emotional baggage isn’t cool at all. If you need someone to fix it, maybe you need Jesus. And besides, keepin’ it real upfront causes less stress down the road.
3. A lot of fellas meet the nice lookin chick and think they’re willing to take on any challenge for her. That is, until her 15 year old son shows up and he’s taller than you. That’s why comin in at #3 is Lyfe Jennings with She Got Kids. On the real, kids are an important part to any person’s life, man or woman. If you can’t handle that you probably don’t wanna date someone with kids.
4. The #1 reason relationships dissolve is lack of communication. The #2 reason is too much communication – from outside forces. Up at #4 is Brandy and Kanye West with Talk About Our Love. A good way to keep your relationship in perspective is to keep everyone else OUT.
5. Fellas and ladies, if your significant other has an unusual amount of contact with the one before you, it might be a sign. The #5 joint is Mya with Case of the Ex. Mya was onto something here; if the ex is too close, you might need to move on to the next. Midnight phone calls, text messages and unexpected cameos from the ex could end up turning you into the next ex.
6. Fellas don’t fool yourself: if she left him for you, she’d leave you for the next man. #6 is an artist who needs a search party to dig him out of his retirement: Ginuwine with What’s So Different? Keep it in perspective and ask yourself, what’s really so different? The answers may shock you…
7. If this song hits home for you, it might be time to pick up and move. The #7 jam is from a woman who could write a book on keeping relationships in perspective – and that’s because she’s in one of the most successful celebrity marriages of our time. It’s none other than Tamia’s smash single Stranger In My House. This song highlights trust issues, which is yet another reason for the failure of relationships. When the trust is gone, you’re just slow dancing in a burning room.
