Needless to say, Mary J.’s grittier single won. However, Mariah’s 100% has found it’s home as the AT&T theme song for TEAM USA in the Winter Olympics, and I truly feel this is where it fits best. Uhhh, this video is lame as hell. Mariah attempts to jump on the Barbie train (a trend I’m sure she wishes she had re-started) while Nick Cannon directed this clip for Mariah’s latest single from the forthcoming Angels Advocate remix album, hittin stores March 23. At the end all I can think of is Target and a halftime show. I think I’m just a grown ass man that’s tired of Barbies. I didn’t like the original version of this song either. Soooo Mariah REALLY IS putting out a remix album. It’s entitled Angels Advocate, and I’m betting all these “leaked” remixes will show up on there. This is the best out of all the ones I’ve heard so far, though Inseparable with Trey Songz is dope too! Elements of this video made me reminisce back to One Sweet Day and I remember that Mariah has done some amazing duets. EUREKA! She should really do a DUETS album… Read the rest of this entry »
There have been talks of a remix album for Mariah Carey’s Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel album. If the rumors are true, this joint should definitely appear on the album! Mariah Carey has been known to do some amazing duets in her career, and although it’s not determined if this is official or not she could easily add this to her catalog. Ne-yo blesses any track he’s on and Angels Cry is no exception to that rule. Mariah Carey’s cover of Foreigner’s classic I Wanna Know What Love Is is easily a fan favorite and arguably one of the best cover songs she’s ever done – I just wish it was a bit longer. If you’re gonna cover the song, cover the ENTIRE song! The video seems pretty quickly thrown together and I’m not sure what vibe they were going for with this, but I could have written a better treatment for this. Ahh well, here goes…
Thank God she did a video for the original version and not that god-awful remix!! Mariah looks great in this video, even though it’s beach scenes in the coldest point of fall. She’s even getting her acting skills up, for a second there I thought a real tear was gonna fall. H.A.T.E.U. appears on Mariah’s newest album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel (review here) in stores now!
Mariah Carey made a play for the theme song for the new movie Precious with 100 Percent, and although this joint sounds good, I’m glad the execs went with Mary’s I Can See In Color, it just fits the feel of the movie better. But don’t let that discredit Mariah’s efforts here, this is still a nice song…

Hmmm… some things are better left alone Mrs. Cannon…
