Ne-yo has done it again  with One In A Million… I don’t think I’ve heard a bad leak from the Libra Scale album yet! Though the album has been pushed back to October 19th (coincidentally the END of the Libra cycle) Ne-yo is delivering hit after hit in preparation for the album’s release. He’s noted for sounding quite a bit like Michael Jackson in his work and One In A Million is no exception. With every album, Ne-yo is known for including a steamy babymaker… something to get it hot and keep things poppin in the bedroom. With the forthcoming Libra Scale, he continues this trend on Tear You Down. His confidence is peaking on this joint, where he croons of broken headboards, carpet burns, and the sweating out of weaves. A bit on the freaky side, but if you listened to Mirror or Say It from his previous releases then you’re used to his more carnal side. Rounding out Ne-yo’s doubleheader is the video for his ultra-smooth new single Champagne Life. This joint is very sexy, very grown and sophisticated without being snooty. The story he began with the Beautiful Monster clip continues here, as we flashback to see the origins of our hero. Columbus Short makes a Morpheus-like cameo in this clip as well. Libra Scale is the new album… in stores September 21st.

Maybe it’s because I’m a true fan of Ne-yo, but I kinda like this video! Sure it’s a bit cheesy in parts and the GFX get a lil sloppy but dude has produced another hit! Beautiful Monster is the first single from Ne-yo’s forthcoming Libra Scale album set to be released September 21. The video is reminiscent of Will Smith’s Hancock character in many ways and the fight scene is a well-choreographed dance breakdown. What I enjoy most about Ne-yo is the fact that he has never submitted to this new trend of overly sexualizing his lyrics or his appearance to sell records and he’s done much better than some of his counterparts that did. His success depicts the type of longevity an artist like him deserves, where each album is a new era in his career. Ne-yo drops another Stargate-produced joint with the ultra-smooth Champagne Life, from his forthcoming album Libra Scale. Can we just crown him the King of Smooth already? Smooth vibe, smooth vocals, and his harmonies are always some of the best! Again on this song I hear some MJ influence, but I’ve learned to accept that from Ne-yo since he always puts out such quality work and never disrespects the King. The thing I appreciate more than anything about Ne-yo is his lack of restraint when it comes to diversifying his sound. David Guetta produced this new cut from the busiest man in R&B. There are elements of pop, soft rock and Ne-yo’s vocals are on point! He’s currently powering up for the release of his new album Libra Scale which will feature the new single Beautiful Monster. Long awaited, highly anticipated, it’s the return of Ne-yo! Beautiful Monster is the first single from his upcoming Libra Scale album. Listening to this record, it’s hard not to hear Michael Jackson’s influence in this song. With each album, he seems to tiptoe further into pop/dance while still retaining his strong R&B sound. I don’t think this is my favorite Ne-yo song but it’ll grow on me I’m sure. Haven’t come across a Ne-yo track yet that I’ve hated. Read the rest of this entry »

F.Gary Gray directed this new clip from Rick Ross featuring Ne-yo with a nice cameo from the beautiful Stacy Dash. Super High is super hot!! I don’t think Ne-yo can even touch a song without turning it to some heat. I’m also gaining a lot of respect for Rick Ross, his lyric game is real proper. First of all, lemme say this is a dope track! I love it, Ne-yo did his thing and so did Rick Ross who, believe it or not, is winning me over as a fan. I just didn’t care for him at first, but lyrically he’s really proving himself to me. This joint is set to appear on his NEW album, Teflon Don Second, I’ve racked my brain like hell on this but I can almost SWEAR there’s a Michael Jackson ad lib sample in the background… I’m having trouble picking out which MJ song it is though. Part of me thinks I heard that run by MJ on You Rock My World but I’m not sure, it could’ve been a FEW MJ songs with that ad lib.
