The lyrics to this song are so deep! It’s probably alot deeper than we think because Dawn even stated herself that every song on her mix-tape & future albums that sound like love songs aren’t actually about love or necessarily love between a man & woman! It could be her talking about the feeling love in general, her relationship she feels she has with music or even GOD!!!!!

I think the guitar rifts and rhythms you’re referring to come from “Act Like You Know” by Fat Larry’s Band. Similar style on Heavy D & The Boyz song ‘Sex Wit You’. I hope this helps!

I have a question that has bothered me from the first time I heard “Ain’t leavin without you”.

The lead guitarist in the song plays a familiar type of solo rhythym on the track akin to the rhythyms of a sound I heard many years ago.

And to its credit the song blends this by gone rhythym into something fresh and new.

As an example when I first heard the smash hit” It’s so hot in here” immeadiately ” I feel like busting loose” came to mind.

My question is does the song “Not leaving without you” share some of the same guitar rifts and rhythyms from a previous artist or style?

I know I’ve heard it before but I cannot recall what artist song or group it originated from?

Any help in answering my question is greatly appreciated.
