EDITED: Video: Jazmine Sullivan - Lions, Tigers & Bears

Posted by Mack of Sound-Savvy On 9:44 PM

Green screen videos seem to be, once again, an increasing trend. I mean, for a minute there I thought T-Pain was gonna pop up outta nowhere! Anyway, I'm diggin this one a little more than the clip for Bust Your Windows but not by much. Visually, it's vivid, but come on... what really does it say?!!? First of all, can we get my girl some better threads? Why does it look like her stylist is working on a really short leash?? Then the dress AND the leather jacket? Even Tyra makes the Top Models lose all that excess clothing at panel. And someone PLEASE kill that damn Exxon tiger!! This truly is one of my favorite songs by her. The song just says sooo much in such a creative and unique way but her videos continually disappoint me...

  1. Chris D. Said,

This is my favorite Jazmine song too. The video is just all right for me, but since the song is so great, I don't mind.

  2. Kimesha Said,

I disagree. I think this video is so perfect for this song. I love the yellow brick road, and I love how she shows that she isn't scared of the Exxon Tiger lol. But I love it and Jazmine looks great. I love this lady, she can do no wrong in my book.

  3. LOL... Kimesha u know I love ya and concept-wise, I see what they were going for, but I don't think they totally succeeded in bringing it together. And you gotta admit, her hair and makeup looks great but the clothes?? She's sooooooo pretty, they HAVE to do better with her.

I love Jazmine too, but her music is too real to be "faked out" in videos like this.

  4. Kimesha Said,

To be honest, I didn't even pay much attention to her clothes until you said something lol. Yeah it isn't very pleasing but that's one minor thing in comparison to the other major parts of this video. I agree, that last video was not so great. All that talk about busting windows and she didn't have the heart to bust any! She should have went along with the concept of the song. Hopefully the next video will be better. I hope her next single is "One Night Stand" or "Dream Big."
