Happy Birthday Sound-Savvy!!!

Posted by Mack of Sound-Savvy On 8:59 AM

That's right, it's a celebration!!! Today marks the 1-year anniversary for Sound-Savvy!! If you're one of those people who hasn' t been to Sound-Savvy since the first day, it probably looks like a completely different page. First off, we went from the standard 2-column look to three last summer. Then I got rid of the old logo, and through the help of the great Steve Thuro at Asylum Digital, we were able to start 2009 off with a fresh look for Sound-Savvy!! This year has been absolutely great, 540+ stories and we're bordering on 22,000 hits within a year which is way beyond my expectations! The first couple of months we were just trying to get 100 hits in a month, now we're hitting that by lunchtime on a daily! So first of all, THANK YOU, the readers AND COMMENTERS! You make Sound-Savvy a success and I, Mack, appreciate it!! Since we're celebrating our first year, let's recap a few firsts:

First Album Review: Twisted Elegance: A Look at 'Discipline' (Janet Jackson - Discipline)
First Video Review: Keyshia Cole - Heaven Sent
First Interview: Motown Recording Artist 'London'
First TIYMLI Post: Drake, Duffy, Janelle Monae, Maroon 5, Jonas Brothers

I gotta give major shouts to four special guys doing major things. They say black men don't help and support one another, but we beg to differ. First up, big love to Adam and Paul at Mindstream Radio, home of the Sound-Savvy Report every Wednesday night from 8-10PM streaming live! And secondly, major shouts to Mike and Shod at Suavv Magazine, where you can catch Sound-Savvy reviews and interviews on a regular monthly basis.
