This epicSense/Sound-Savvy Artist Spotlight takes a trip to Durham, North Carolina, and introduces us to KTR, also known as Kourvioisier. Hit the jump below to check out his new track, Why Should I (Go Hard).
This 18 year old native of Durham has been formatting and crafting his rap style since the tender age of 13 as he began writing at 11. With Rakim’s track “I know you got Soul” being the first hip hop song he ever heard, he began getting his history lesson in hip hop from his Step Father who was a DJ (DJ Jam) at the time. Many days his step dad gave him records and talked to him about the styles of different artist and how important it was for him to creating his own style. Influenced by an array of artist from the 80’s, 90’s and the new millennium. Kourvioisier, has come into his own and has the ability to hold his own on any track. His Stage name is his birth name or his initials KTR, so he has been smooth since birth. The proof is in the pudding, but you be the judge. You can catch Kourvioisier rocking with his Carolina Flight Gang click or on the poetry scene spitting his poetry with Promethus-Bound. “A very promising future for a very young and polished artist.”
I've known KTR since he was about 13. Back when him and his First In Flight crew just started. And even back then i was amazed at this kid's talent at such a young age. From all the tracks and previous mixtapes I've heard him on, throughout the years I've seen this young man's growth as an artist. Expect ALOT more coming from this artist very very soon.
Here's something New from KTR (Kourvioiser). Featuring M-16 and produced By Durham, NC heavy hitters Panama Red. Check this track out. You WON'T be disappointed.
