Valentine's Special: This Is Love...

Valentine's Day is a commercialized holiday where excess money is spent on superficial ways to say the things you should be able to say on any of the other 364 days of the year. But the symbol that it stands for is one of perpetual goodness, the longing of every human being that resides in the deepest part of the soul - love. And that's what this playlist is about... This Is Love...

My Life Sounds Like 'Island Life'

One thing you'll never catch me without is my iPod (and maybe a drink). I flipped through my collection and put together a nice playlist to help me fully enjoy this... I call it Island Life. THE STANDARD: The Soundtrack

So you went and got your nice outfit because you knew this would be a hell of a party; ladies spent a couple hours in the salon, fellas got those fresh lineups; pulled out a lil extra cash so you could have a drink in hand all night. You looked good, you smelled good, and you were probably feelin on cloud nine after that second or third drink. But there's always that one element that actually makes the party... it's called the Soundtrack.

Shouts to Tank, Lydia and Indya for throwing one of the hottest parties of the summer: The Standard. Birthdays come once a year, and this party has raised the bar for celebrating in style - they gave US a gift for comin to their party, how cool is that? And double shouts to the DJ's: Tab D'Biassi (The Million Dollar DJ) and DJ Buttafingaz for keepin the ladies hips movin and the fellas on their 2-step game all night. The music was crazy, from the 80's jams, to the 90's grooves; from my native go-go sounds, to that crazy reggae set, to today's hottest hip-hop and R&B, the DJ's definitely held it down all night long. So in true Sound-savvy style, I'mma hook you up. If you missed it, or weren't invited, or u just wanna relive a little bit of the party vibe, u might enjoy this playlist... don't thank me, thank THE STANDARD.

My Mood is MUSIC!!!

Hey family, as I sit here in the complacent world of corporate America, I find my only true escape is my music. It takes me to a place, where, I can be free. A place free of chaos, judgement & rules. God, its just so peaceful here. Each song, regardless of the artist, or genre, adds meaning to whatever I might be going thru @ the present time. I'm quite sure I'm not the only one who feels like this. I often wonder what would life be like without the melodic sounds of music? Crazy, right? No matter what you're going thru, music is the perfect remedy. I guarantee you'd feel somewhat better after listening to that ONE artist, who just makes you feel, you're not alone in the struggle.
What is my current mood? Simple, I'm feeling rather Mellomusic. You'd have to be me to truly understand.

If The Music Moves Ya...

So I just got in from the gym, my workout this morning consisted of 40 minutes straight cardio on the elliptical machine and 35-40 minute toning cycle on upper body machines. REWIND: Yes, 40 minutes on the elliptical. To some it seems like hell to get through 10 minutes on that damn thing, and it was like that for me when I first started working out a few years ago. I always get people that get on after me and get off before me, and they’re like “How do you go so long on that thing?” It’s the music in my Pod that keeps me motivated. I get on, type in my information, plug in my iPod, close my eyes, and GO! So for all my fellow gym rats that need that extra push, here’s volume 1 of my workout set of playlists, I hope it helps you keep movin’ towards your fitness goals...
