Video: Rihanna ft. Young Jeezy - Hard

"That Rihanna reign just won't let up..."

Gotta be one of my favorite joints off the album. The beat knocks, the hook is simple but means so much and Jeezy's verse seals the deal. Hard is the latest single off Rihanna's fourth album Rated R. In this high-fashion meets military clip, Rihanna struts her stuff touting the song's infectious line "I'm so HARD!!".

Video: Rihanna Performs 'Russian Roulette' on X-Factor

So I'll admit, Rihanna isn't the best vocalist in the world, I got no problems with that. HOWEVER, you can't tell me she doesn't hold her own. This is the live performance I've been waiting for, to see her perform Russian Roulette. Rihanna belts out the big ones with very few flaws in this performance on the UK hit series X-Factor. Judge for yourself, but I think she did it justice...

Rihanna ft. Justin Timberlake - Hole In Your Head

Check out this bonus cut off her new album Rated R, available now. She works with Mr. Timberlake on this joint, not bad, really and it sounds like a mix between her old and new content. Decent track, but really shows how much Timbaland has rubbed off on Timberlake...

Album Review: Rihanna - Rated R

Artist: Rihanna
Album: Rated R
Release Date: 11.20.09

After a tumultuous year in the public eye, Rihanna emerges from the darkest period of her life with her fourth album Rated R, a journey inside her intimate velvet rope where personal becomes public. Like her previous albums, Rated R is predominantly pop but it folds in other genres including some grungy and soft rock, R&B, and hip hop to create an easily accessible sound. With this project, Rihanna’s growth as both an artist and a woman are quite evident: the production is a lot deeper as is the lyrical content, giving her a sound that is much bigger and a lot bolder.

Video: Rihanna - Russian Roulette

The wait is over and the video is here for Rihanna's dark and gloomy new single Russian Roulette. The video, shot by Anthony Mandler is simply stunning, very symbolic of Rihanna's life over the past 9 months in an intense spotlight. I think it also serves as a preface for the next phase of her career, a new and different path. Rated R will be in stores November 24...

Rihanna - Cold Case Love

Rihanna belts out the big notes and incorporates some big production from Mr. Timberlake and Rob Knox. Cold Case Love is a nice step up for her, and will appear on Rated R. The rifts and the entire instrumental at the end of the track rocks hard!! Of course there will be speculation that this is about Chris...

Video: Rihanna - The Wait is Ova

There's certainly a lot of buzz spinning around Ms. Fenty these days, amazing how the music world is on edge for her every move. The video is a bit mysterious, not following any particular concept, just some shots of her in different scenes, but I'm sure they all have some type of meaning. Check for The Wait Is Ova on her upcoming 4th album Rated R in stores November 23.

Rihanna - Hard (Feat. Young Jeezy)

Here's a track that'll be on Rihanna's Rated R album.  Riri and Young Jeezy get it in on this Tricky Stewart produced, The-Dream written track.  Rated R drops November 23rd.  Shouts to UHTN once again!

Rihanna - Bubble Pop

Not sure how I'm feelin' about this joint. I love Rihanna's non-depressing side of her music, but this one is not very impressive. The beat is hot tho, props to Will.I.Am on that. Not sure whether this is set to appear on Rated R, which is due out November 23.

Rihanna feat. Kardinal Offishall - Russian Roulette (Remix)

Hmmm... nice remix verse by Mr. Kardinal Offishall on Rihanna's dark and moody comeback single. I doubt that this is official, especially so soon. Not much different from the original...

Rihanna's NEW SINGLE - Russian Roulette

Well, if there was a battle between Chris and Rihanna for comeback singles, let me say this now: SHE WON! Russian Roulette is the first single from her new Rated R album coming soon!! Personal in nature, this track has a hauntingly dark background track and soaring vocals from the Barbados beauty. Props to the kid Ne-yo on this one. I am definitely looking forward to this new album!

Kanye's Apology for his VMA Kantrum + Performs Live on Leno

Soooo... by now we all know about the latest Kantrum on the VMA's: Kanye West robbed Taylor Swift of her shine by taking the mic in the middle of her acceptance speech and declaring Beyonce as the more deserving winner for Best Female Video. Tonight, he took to the stage on Jay Leno's new show flanking Jay-Z and Rihanna for a performance of their smash hit Run This Town, but decided to take a few minutes to sit down with Leno and apologize to Taylor Swift.
I won't call this a publicity stunt, I won't say it wasn't genuine, I won't even applaud Leno for the gut punch. I do, however think Kanye needs a moment of clarity: he's dealt with a lot in his personal life. Or maybe that's the problem, maybe he hasn't dealt with it. Either way, this needs to stop.

Jay-Z feat. Kanye West and Rihanna - Run This Town

Aight Jay-Z, I'm feelin this new joint - no auto-tune on Rihanna's vocals! I gotta keep it honest... Kanye outshines Jay on this track by far; not that Jay didn't deliver, but Kanye got him on this joint. Run This Town is the latest cut off Jay's forthcoming BluePrint 3 LP. RocNation is back, pledge your allegiance, it's an all black takeover, and Jay takes the lead on the revolution. Diamonds in the sky...

Rihanna - Te Amo

Rihanna's Latin-tinged Te Amo has that rhythmic dance feel to it, accented by a sensual Spanish guitar. The lyrics speak of another female, so it's hard to determine if this is a track Rihanna is referencing for another artist or if it's for her next project. Download the track using the link below.

Video: Kanye West - Paranoid FEATURING RIHANNA!

AMAZING!!! Rihanna re-emerges into the spotlight in a breakthrough cameo in Kanye's Paranoid video. She looks great, strong and totally ready to reclaim her spot atop the charts. Kanye couldn't have picked a better leading lady, nor a better time to re-introduce her to the world. The concept for this video fits perfectly with both the song and Rihanna's recent ordeal. Great job Mr. West and Ms. Fenty.

Rihanna feat. Lady Gaga - Silly Boy

First of all, this doesn't sound like Rihanna at all. These two pop princesses coming together on a track could be as monumental as the Beyonce/Shakira collab, but this track isn't it. It makes sense that the label wants to feed off the Chrihanna drama with a track like Silly Boy though. I'd love to hear these ladies do a club/dance track together, but after a few spins, I still feel like this is a miss.

MINDSTREAM TOPIC: For Cheaters Only

Tonight's Topic on Mindstream is CHEATING... Do you forgive, forget and move on? Do you get even? Or do you just walk away? As part of the Sound-Savvy report, I thought it'd be cool to take a look back at some of the best 'cheating' videos (in no particular order) of our lifetime. This is not a definitive or final list, so feel free to leave comments with some videos you think should've made the list.

New Music from Rihanna - Whippin' My Hair

Here's yet another unreleased joint from Rihanna. I can't tell whether this is something from her new album or a scrapped track from her Good Girl Gone Bad sessions. It's a decent track, but in all fairness, it does sound like something she's done before. With this new album, I'm looking for more hotness. She really hasn't stated which direction she wants to take the next album, but with her recent ordeal I'm sure it'll be highly personal and even darker than her last...

Mario feat. Rihanna - Emergency Room

I reeeallllyyyy hate to go there, but could this track have been prophecy? Soundz put some hotness into the production on this joint, and Rihanna on a track with Mario is like heaven! Emergency Room is (presumably) the first cut off Mario's upcoming 4th album, And Then There Was Me slated for release later this year. Folks have been sleeping HARD on Mario, his last album Go was an R&B BANGER especially cuts like Why, Lay In My Bed, and his cover of Right and a Wrong Way. I mentioned in a post I read earlier that if Motown was still the powerhouse label it used to be, Mario would definitely be in the number...

New Music: Rihanna - Hatin' On The Club

Rihanna is makin' it REALLY hard for the rest of the females in the pop world. She has the world on the edge of their seats awaiting her next move and she's in a place where she can do whatever she wants. So right now, she wants to be Hatin' On The Club with Mr. Radio Killa. This is a smash hit, and I've got a feelin' she's just teasing us with what's to come on her next project. Rock on Rihanna...
