Whoever decided to put these two pop stars together struck pure platinum with that idea! Honestly, I wouldn't mind a Beyonce x Lady Gaga tour, or hell even a collaborative album. These two tracks with both of them are fire!! Beyonce needs the variation that Lady Gaga brings, and Lady Gaga could benefit from doing something huge with a mega star like Beyonce. I see a mutually beneficial partnership in the making...

The Queen of the wind machine is red hot in this performance of Sweet Dreams for the MTV Europe Music Awards. Though it was very theatrical and titillating, I was hoping she'd do the whole song, as it's one of my favorites from the I Am...Sasha Fierce album. Vocals were on point though B, another one knocked outta the park!

If you've been to her current I Am... tour, this performance is nothing new, save for the prancing army of single ladies behind Beyonce. Although her gesture for Taylor Swift wins for classiest moment of the night, this concept is unoriginal and recycled. She used the same concept a few years ago when she performed her single Me, Myself and I with another army of single women.

I can't even be mad at Beyonce for this video. I actually dig this because it's not over the top, but it's clear that Beyonce is trying to establish an 'era' with the videos from the I Am...Sasha Fierce album. Most of the videos have featured her in some sort of intricate dance sequence flanked by two dancers and that will be the defining image of this period in her career. Carry on Sasha Fierce, you can be both my sweet dream AND my beautiful nightmare...

Perfect!! Just when all Beyonce's videos were getting mundane, she breaks through with this emotional and very captivating video. I love how her facial expressions tell the story in this video; there are no words, just the music and the images. Beyond that, this is one of my favorite songs from the album, penned by Babyface himself. Brokenhearted Girl appears on Beyonce's latest album, I Am...Sasha Fierce, in stores now!

If you saw the original video, there's not much to see here. And really, was it a surprise to ANYONE that Kanye would do a verse for a song called Ego?? So anyway, here it is, the original video for Beyonce's Ego, featuring a short performance clip from Kanye tacked on to the beginning -- to stroke his big ego.

Beyonce's non-stop these days, and who can blame her? After all, she's "got every reason to feel like I'm that bitch!" Sasha Fierce maintains the black and white theme and flashy attire in this video for Ego from the I Am...Sasha Fierce album. Sexy as it may be, this concept is getting a bit repetitive in her videos: big hair, flanking dancers, flashy dresses... And this song is catchy but it's not her best, not even in the top five. Although it's not an official remix, the version with Kanye would have been more entertaining, in video form at least...

Tonight's Topic on Mindstream is CHEATING... Do you forgive, forget and move on? Do you get even? Or do you just walk away? As part of the Sound-Savvy report, I thought it'd be cool to take a look back at some of the best 'cheating' videos (in no particular order) of our lifetime. This is not a definitive or final list, so feel free to leave comments with some videos you think should've made the list.

Aight, so if you read Sound-Savvy on a regular, you'll know that I DO like Beyonce, I'm just not her biggest fan, but I treat her no differently than everyone else - when she's right I give her props, when she's wrong, I say what I feel. In this case, Beyonce is VERY RIGHT... A lot of people are giving her flack saying she's overzealous and "thirsty" for wanting so badly to perform at the inauguration... so what?? If you were currently the biggest name in music (not really up for debate) and had this opportunity, the opportunity of a lifetime, can you honestly say you wouldn't jump at the chance? My parents always taught me "If you want something, go get it" So I don't see anything wrong with it, especially since she delivered such an amazing and stirring performance of At Last. I don't think there was a dry eye in the country watching this; it literally gave me chills. So while I may not agree with all of Beyonce's statements, my hat goes off to her for this one, it was a privilege well-deserved and an honor best bestowed.

Overall the performances were very high-energy. It was definitely a night for the backup dancers. Almost everyone, even the folks who could have done just as well without, brought their crews with them to rock the show with their acrobatics and athleticism. Despite all the extra effort though, the show’s performers failed to produce anything memorable or ground-breaking. The result became a string of music-video-esque type performances with no antics or over-the-top stunts to create a buzz. Here’s what I observed:

Christina Aguilera opened the show with her sensational voice and about as many outfit changes as songs… She began with a few lines from Beautiful and then transitioned into an amped-up performance of Keeps Getting Better, where she was accompanied by her dancers. In my opinion, this is what the music video really should have looked like. She also took a stroll with her hits Genie In A Bottle, let the vocals rip on Dirty and brought it home with Aint No Other Man.

NKOTB – is it time to sit down yet? Jordan’s singing was sooooooooo off most of the time and they looked about as uncoordinated as bad as they sound

Pink’s performance of her second single Sober was a highlight for me. It’s definitely one of the best songs on her album, and this performance was totally rocked out. Not to mention she looks amazing. Pink sure knows how to kick in the emotion when it’s time.

I’m now officially checkin for Taylor Swift. She did a great job, and I think I'm gonna review her CD

Miley Cyrus' performance of Fly On The Wall had great energy and the song is kinda catchy. Is she this decade’s Britney Spears?

Jonas Brothers - blaaaaaahhhhhh…

Ne-yo… white shoes tho? Feelin the horn arrangement and the dance routines were amazing but uh… I think he forgot that he was actually supposed to SING the words. If you’re going to dance that hard and forget to deliver the lyrics, join the rest of the “cool kids” that lip sync their live shows!

Leona Lewis took the stage with her perfect vocals and she looked great!! She is one of few artists I dare to say sings better live than on her album! Another highlight of the night for me.

Beyonce showed up gloveless for a performance of Sasha's current smash Single Ladies. Of course she looked amazing and had great energy, but that vanilla honey on the right was killing it. So I guess that answers my previous question: even without the glove, she still gives the love...

Fashionably, Rihanna rocked! She tried some new things with her vocals, to prove that she can actually sing, contrary to what a lot of folks seem to think. I really hope Rehab is the last single from this album.

I’m gonna try not to say anything bad about Kanye West. His performance of Heartless was cool, nothing amazing, but his vocals were quite off in a lot of places. Which brings me to my next point…What’s he gonna do when he goes on tour?? Oh and Kanye… from now on just take your award, say thank you, sit down and shut up. Thank you and you’re welcome… (Hey, I said I'd TRY!)

Sara McLachlan and Pink singing ‘Angel’ – That is one of the most beautiful songs ever written, and this duet was amazing. Really took me back to Pink’s Can’t Take Me Home album, her R&B flavored debut.

Alicia Keys performed Superwoman with some help from Queen Latifah and Kathleen Bennett (presumably a professional opera singer). Good look with bringin out the Queen and diversifying her performance, but I think the opera may have been a bit much. I see what she was trying to do and I appreciate it, but it was a bit much all at once.
