NEW: Alicia Keys - Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart

This is a bit of a different sound for Ms. Keys, but I definitely like it. It has less of the unplugged feel, and more of a futuristic, heavy production feel - kinda like an 808. Yeah, that's because the producer of this track did a lot of work on Kanye's 808's N' Heartbreaks. Ms. Keys new album, The Element of Freedom has been pushed back two weeks to December 15, so make sure you cop that!

NEW SINGLE from Chris Brown - I Can Transform Ya

Yessss! Chris Breezy is BACK with the first single from his new album Graffiti. Swizz Beatz on the production, Weezy on the feature, this joint has a nice beat, but I think it'll take some time for me to love this like some of his other work that was instant smashes (Wall to Wall, With U, etc.) It just doesn't WOW me like I thought it would. This joint is pretty slick though!

NEW Britney Spears - 3

Yes, the name of the song is 3. It's the new single from Britney's The Singles Collection compilation disc, which will include 17 of her biggest hits! I'm actually kinda diggin this song, a surprise since I absolutely HATED the Circus album. What do u think?

Omarion ft. Gucci Mane - I Get It In

If this song sounds familiar to ya, it's because it is. We gave you this track already, but Lil Wayne was on it (click here to listen). Since then, Omarion has split from Young Money and split Wayne from the track, replacing him with... Gucci Mane? BURR! This is reportedly the first single from Omarion's 3rd solo album Ollusion (how creative...) due out November 24th. That'll be pushed back, there's no way he wants to compete with Diddy AND Mary J. Blige. He's not B2K anymore, remember? And yes, that damn 'BURR' sound is equally as annoying as OJ Da Juiceman's 'AYE'. I just can't fathom... never mind. Here's the song...

New Music from Brian McKnight - What I've Been Waiting For

Yesssssssss!!! Real R&B is BACK!! Brian McKnight is prepping the release of album #11 (damn, I actually own ALL of them!), entitled Evolution of A Man. The first single, What I've Been Waiting For has all the elements that made us love Brian McKnight through the nearly two decades of his career. Evolution of A Man is set to hit stores on October 13, I'm betting on another classic...

Whitney Houston's Comeback Single - I Didn't Know My Own Strength

I expected her to comeback with a ballad, but definitely something much more powerful. This isn't a bad single, but it doesn't carry the type of strength that I expected from THE VOICE that powered R&B music for years. I Didn't Know My Own Strength is the first single from Whitney's new album, entitled I Look to You, set to hit shelves on September 1st. This single will generate SOME buzz, but she MUST come stronger...

The Dream - Hit It On The Road

Ehhh... I'm not really feelin this joint. It's a slightly different
sound for The Dream, but not better. On the one hand, at least we don't
hear the repetitive "ella ella" and "eh eh". On the flipside, this
sounds like a cross between the ignorant lyricism of Soulja Boy or the
Ying Yang Twins, and the rap-sing style of Trey Songz or Ciara (no diss
to either). The beat is pretty hot, but that's about all I can really
get with on this song. I presume this is a preview track from his next
album Love King, coming in 2010.

R. Kelly feat. Keri Hilson - Number 1 Sex

"You are now rockin' with the best, I'll make you forget about the rest..."

R. Kelly has and probably will always make great slow jams and bedroom bangers. On Number 1 Sex, Kellz teams up with Miss Keri Hilson to deliver another sexy bedroom banger. Auto-tune aside, R. Kelly put it down on the vocals and so does Keri. It's been rumored that R. Kelly is working on his next album, by my count this will be number 9 for him. Hopefully it will be a return to his glory days, because in recent years, Kellz seems to have been losing his touch for making solid albums.

Rihanna - Te Amo

Rihanna's Latin-tinged Te Amo has that rhythmic dance feel to it, accented by a sensual Spanish guitar. The lyrics speak of another female, so it's hard to determine if this is a track Rihanna is referencing for another artist or if it's for her next project. Download the track using the link below.

Chris Brown - Smash

This version is unfinished, but could appear on C. Breezy's forthcoming Graffiti album. Not really a new sound for Chris Brown, and I think he's testing the waters with the auto-tune use on this one, although he's not new to the use of the voice augmentation tool. However, Chris is one of the few guys in the game that can actually deliver some good vocals, so auto-tune is really not necessary for him. Smash is okay for me, I think he's getting a little more brash in his lyrics, but this isn't anything spectacular... no pun intended.

Jamie Foxx - Digital Girl Remix (Feat. Drake)

Already a hot song, Drake's verse gives this Dream-produced track just a little more firepower. and it's just in time for the summer. I'm diggin that verse Drizzy!! Download the song using the link below!

Plies - Becky

Ladies and gentleman... err goons and goonnettes! Ignorance has returned to hip-hop and, once again, it goes by the name of Plies. Somewhere some gutter, gunshot-wounded goonnette will appreciate this ode to fellatio. For me, Plies is the same dude with a limited vocabulary and, therefore, less to say than a Dr. Seuss book. This is his first single, from his 4th album, Goon Affiliated, slated for a September release. Can you tell I don't like it?

New Music from Lupe Fiasco - Shining Down

With the release of his third (and possibly final) album Lasers on the horizon, Lupe Fiasco steps forth from the shadows with his first single, Shining Down featuring Matthew Santos. Santos also joined Lupe on Superstar, the lead single from The Cool, and his biggest to date. What I've always admired about Lupe over other artists is his balance - his music is always something to vibe to, yet it's message is never overrun with ignorance. Lasers is scheduled for release later this year, but a definite date is unknown at this time. Let me know what ya think...

New Music from Amerie - Dear John

Someone over at Def Jam hears our cries and they're pushing Amerie into a newer direction. If Dear John makes it as her next single, it will mark the first time Amerie has released a ballad as a single. The piano melody on this song is really nice, and the lyrics really highlight her femininity and softer side. It's not the best ballad I've heard and I think she should step it up a bit on the vocals, but at least she's trying some new sounds. In Love and War is scheduled for release on August 11.

Maxwell - Bad Habits

Maxwell is one of the only artists that can consistently put out 6-minute songs and I'd NEVER get tired of hearing them. Following up the success of his comeback hit Pretty Wings, Maxwell offers Bad Habit, another mellow, vocally soaring song with a jazzy instrumental that I LOVE! This is a confirmed track for his forthcoming album Black, from the trilogy BlackSummersNight. Black will be in stores July 7th.

Jadakiss ft. Ruff Ryders - Who's Real (Remix)

MACK: Shouts to DJ Swift Official and the entire EpicSense crew!! Way to kick off the summer with a blazing remix! Jada is settin the bar with this one. How long has it been since the entire Ruff Ryders have been on a track? And from what I've been seeing on Swizz Beats' UStream, Eve is preparing an EPIC comeback to the game! Check out this remix to Who's Real from Jada's last album The Last Kiss and download the track below!

Lloyd - Night and Day

Lloyd has done better, point blank, PERIOD. This song is aight, but it's not his best, and it sounds like classic Lloyd. I'm tryin to hear him turn it up a notch. Another album of the same old Lloyd will be just plain boring. And I'm actually GLAD he didn't throw Wayne on here, but alas, there's still a possibility of a remix. Not impressed...

Wale - Family Affair

Wale put out Family Affair via Twitter this morning and I think it's a good look for him, a nice way to transition out of the party/hype vibe of Chillin and showcase more of his lyrical ability - especially now that he's got the world's attention. Family Affair is a pretty intense song with some hard-hitting perspectives. There lyrics here NEED to be heard, so if this isn't the final version, I'd simplify the instrumental as much as possible so as not to distract from the song's content. Otherwise, I stamp this joint as official!! Attention Deficit is on the way!! Video below...

Ace Hood feat. Rick Ross and Jazmine Sullivan - Champion

I never really paid much attention to Ace Hood, but I like this new song from him - probably because Jazmine Sullivan blazes the hook. But beyond that, Ace spits some real talk on this record and it's very inspirational. The Runners contributed a hot beat and this song is a great anthem, set to appear on Ace Hood's sophomore release Ruthless, due out June 30.

Brandy feat. Ne-yo - Decisions

I'm sure a lot of folks slept hard on Brandy's last album, Human, but you were warned: it was a GREAT album. The hits seem to keep coming, and although Decisions did not appear on that album, it's a testament to the fact that Brandy is still making great music. Ne-yo and B-Rocka fit great together on this song. FYI, Brandy has talked lately about a collaborative album with Ray J., so this could be a demo for that project, either way it's a hot song!
