Jamie Foxx ft. Justin Timberlake - Winner

Album #4 is on the way from the talented Mr. Foxx, and this could very well be the first single. Winner pairs the Grammy-nominated singer up with multiple Grammy-winner Justin Timberlake. I think this joint is kinda hot, nothing on the level of Blame It, but it works. Check it...

Audio: Winner

Jamie Foxx - Private Party (Girl U Know)

A snippet of this came out a while back. Here's the full version. I got a feeling this won't be the only version, since there's a gap toward the end of the song, rappers will jump on this quickly to add their 16. So expect more versions of this soon. Props to YK.

Jamie brings another all star cast together for the remix!!!

Ne-yo and Jamie Foxx - I'll Be There (Live at the 2009 BET Awards)

I made it through the whole night, but this is the moment that brought me to tears. What hurts the most for me is that all throughout my childhood and adult life, I felt attached to Michael Jackson. It takes a lot of strength, in a time like this, to stand in front of a room full of people and deliver the few words that Janet did. My prayers and the prayers of the Sound-Savvy community go out to the Jackson family in this difficult time. The entire world feels their loss and we all mourn and celebrate together.

Jamie Foxx - Digital Girl Remix (Feat. Drake)

Already a hot song, Drake's verse gives this Dream-produced track just a little more firepower. and it's just in time for the summer. I'm diggin that verse Drizzy!! Download the song using the link below!

Video: Jamie Foxx - Blame It

Now THAT'S how you do a music video!!! Jamie pulled a "callin-all-cars" on this one!! Oscar winners, Grammy winners, girls that kiss girls and plenty of alcohol flowin' around. Appearances include Quincy Jones, Forrest Whitaker, Samuel L Jackson, Jake Gyllenhaal, Morris Chestnut and Jermaine Dupri, among others to round out the star-studded cast. Blame It is the second single from Jamie's latest album, Intuition. Not only is this one of the hottest tracks on the album, it's a Sound-Savvy certified club banger! Don't believe me? Check your local club this weekend when this song comes on...

Jamie Foxx feat. Busta Rhymes, Weezy, & T-Pain - Blame It (Remix)

Jamie Foxx is back on the road to the top of the charts. If you have Intuition, then you already know that Blame It is one of the hottest tracks on the album. Well it just got an upgrade! Busta Rhymes and Lil Wayne have come together with Foxx and Pain to seriously hype this remix, and it's definitely worth it. First party anthem of '09 right here!

Blame It On The Alcohol Remix - Jamie Foxx feat. T-Pain, Busta Rhymes, and Lil Wayne

Busta Rhymes, Mary J. Blige, Jamie Foxx, and Common - Decision

"I made a decision despite all the things that we go through, I'm gonna take my time with you and be a friend you need..."

This song speaks volumes about the value of friendship... Shouts to Busta and his buddies on this, another cut from Back on My B.S. I think Busta's cleanin up his style and tryin to really come back in a major way. Speaking from a fan's perspective, his dark disposition in recent years and "gangsta" approach has kinda put me off and I've had little to no interest in him. Not to mention the fact that a close friend shared that he's not the most pleasant to be around, especially for an interview. I may have to cop this album though just to hear what's new. I give him props on this one... nice work Busta!

Album Review: Jamie Foxx - Intuition

Artist: Jamie Foxx
Album: Intuition
Release Date: 12.16.08

Jamie Foxx can be called a lot of things, but one thing’s for certain: there’s no shortage of talent in his camp. He may be best known for his comedy and acting abilities, but he’s showing just as much growth behind the mic as he’s shown on the big screen. Intuition follows up his 2005 sophomore release Unpredictable and effectively propels Foxx back into the music realm. I particularly like the flow of this album; the hip-hop flavored up-tempo tracks start the show, then he moves into the sensual mid-tempos and brings it all together on the erotic slow jams towards the end of the album.

Timbaland shows why he’s one of the hottest producers in the game by contributing a killer beat to I Don’t Need It. T.I. keeps it cool and relaxed on the lead single Just Like Me while Lil Wayne adds some heat to Number One, a track hefty with swag from the New Orleans-bred rapper alongside Foxx. T-Pain steps up to the mic with Foxx on the club banger Blame It, a spirited toast to the effects of spirits and Kanye West along with the Dream team up for the second single Digital Girl, a look at the latest craze of cyber/digital sex.

In true R&B fashion, Intuition totally delivers on its slower tracks. The late night lovers can indulge their carnal fantasies with tracks like Weekend Lover, Slow and my personal favorite, Freakin’ Me with Floetry songstress Marsha Ambrosius. Freakin’ Me is a passionate duet that brings life to the hidden intimate desires of the masses – time to commence the baby making with this one! On tracks like Overdose and Rainman Foxx takes the role of the forlorn lover, desperate and almost whiny over the breakup.

There’s no doubt that this album surpasses his previous release in the fact that it’s just stepped up in every way. The wider selection of producers adds some variety, but there’s still a heavy presence from Tricky and The Dream throughout. You’ll also find an absence of old school sampling, which gives the album a much fresher feel, while it maintains the elements of good R&B music with Foxx’s penetrating vocals and his mature subject matter. Props to Mr. Foxx on outdoing himself once again by simply following his own intuition…

Jamie Foxx - Digital Girl

Check out Digital Girl, the second track off Jamie Foxx's third studio album entitled Intuition. This joint features some clever lyrical wordplay from Kanye and a guest appearance by The Dream, who also produced the track. Although it's Jamie's song, Kanye rather steals the show with more metaphors than a thesaurus. Still, it's enough to make me look forward to the new album, due out 12.16.08

Video: Jamie Foxx feat. T.I. - Just Like Me

I'm really lovin' this video!! Taraji P. Henson is beautiful as ever and they look so great together in this clip. I'm glad Jamie took a different approach with this video and added a comedic spin. The song is more about relationship karma and the practice of returning one bad deed with another. It really kinda makes me appreciate the song more. Just Like Me is the first official single from Jamie Foxx's third (yes, third) studio album, Intuition set to hit stores on December 16th. The album will also feature the re-mix to Ne-yo's Miss Independent, the newer version was re-titled She Got Her Own and features Ne-yo with Foxx and Fabolous.

Video-SHE'S GOT HER OWN

Welcome Miss Independent times 3. I can't say I'm a big fan of the remix, the original is definitely the best. However, Ne-yo brings Jamie Foxx & Fabolous to tell the world what a Miss Independent means to them. Great concept for the video. Lyrically, the remix is still inspiring for women doing their own thing. INDEPENDENT LADIES stand up! This is our year to take over the throne! If these men aren't with it, don't love 'em: LEAVE 'EM!!!

Top 10 Countdown: Hip Hop and R&B Dedications To Moms

Mother's Day is coming up: Sunday May 11, and Sound-Savvy would like to take the time to shout out those special women who have done so much in our lives. Being a mother is about more than just pushing out a kid; we recognize the struggles, and appreciate the sacrifices. Fortunately, so do many music artists, so we dedicate this countdown to all the mothers, especially those moms rockin with Sound-Savvy!

Artist: Jay-Z
Song: December 4th
What better way to honor your mom than to put her on a track? Jay and Mama Carter take a trip down memory lane on this opening track to the Black Album, Jay’s first exit to retirement. With mom narrating and Jay spittin’ the flow, could there be a better mother and son collaboration?

Artist: Jamie Foxx
Song: I Wish You Were Here
This song was written for the woman who raised Foxx, his grandmother. For many, grandmothers were mothers, and Jamie does a masterful job of paying homage to the special woman who raised and molded him. Grandmothers all over the world, we love ya’ll just as much.

Artist: Talib Kweli
Song: Momma Can You Hear Me
If you’ve never heard this, don’t fret – it’s unreleased. This joint was recorded during the Eardrum sessions but is set to be released on the forthcoming Prisoner of Conscious and was produced by Kanye West. Everybody knows how Kweli flows, just imagine him spittin a whole song to his mom. Very deep listening.

Artist: Raheem Devaughn
Song: Woman
Once again reppin the DMV, Raheem celebrates the beauty of women as a whole, from the things we love, to the things that drive us crazy – and yes, even the little things. Woman is featured on Raheem Devaughn’s sophomore studio release Love Behind The Melody.

Artist: GhostFace and Mary J. Blige
Song: All That I Got Is You
A heart wrenching shout to moms and grandmothers accompanied by a tear jerking video clip. From overcrowded living spaces, to borrowing food from your neighbors just to make it, this song delves into the struggles a mother will endure for her children.

Artist: Anthony Hamilton
Song: Mama Knew Love
This is the opening cut from his debut Comin From Where I’m From. This is a reminiscent cut with a simple message – no matter how hard life got, Mama always knew love for her children.

Artist: 2Pac
Song: Dear Mama
Without question, Tupac was a lyricist beyond his years and his peers in the rap game. ‘Pac wrote this song to symbolize his appreciation for the one woman who would always understand him -- in life and beyond the grave.

Artist: Mario
Song: Do Right
In 2007, Mario filmed a documentary, I Love You, But I won’t Love You to Death, which chronicled his struggles with his mother’s addiction to heroin. This song is featured on his latest project Go (2007) and explains his love for her in spite of her addiction and his admiration for her as she overcame it.

Artist: Kanye West
Song: Hey Mama
This cut is from The Louis Vuitton Don himself and it was a shout to the woman who single-handedly helped him reach his dreams. With the passing of his mother last year, one thing this joint teaches, is to honor your mother while she’s still here. Rest in Peace Dr. West.

Artist: Boyz II Men
Song: A Song For Mama
Timeless is this cut from those 4 Philly boys. This track was featured on their Evolution CD and the Soul Food soundtrack. Not since this classic was released has there been a better R&B dedication to mothers all over the world that simply says I love you.
