NEW SINGLE from Chris Brown - I Can Transform Ya
Yessss! Chris Breezy is BACK with the first single from his new album Graffiti. Swizz Beatz on the production, Weezy on the feature, this joint has a nice beat, but I think it'll take some time for me to love this like some of his other work that was instant smashes (Wall to Wall, With U, etc.) It just doesn't WOW me like I thought it would. This joint is pretty slick though!

For the past few weeks, Jay Sean's Down has been in the top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. He may be new to us in the US, but Jay Sean has been making hits in the UK for a few years now, and he's really heated up the British chart. For his US debut, he's signed to (wait for it) Cash Money Records and is preparing to release his first US album, All Or Nothing this November. The single is a nice collab, though I think it would be just as hot without labelmate Lil Wayne. Its very pop and sounds a bit boy band-ish, but that's what makes it a hit. Check it out...

Weezy Disses Michael Jackson in Freestyle
This video was recorded on 5/16/09 BEFORE Michael Jackson passed, but in this UStream video, Lil Wayne goes in on Michael Jackson, calling him a "FAG" and referencing the Pepsi burn incident. To be real, I remember hearing this chanted as a game amongst kids when I was younger, but for someone of Wayne's age and status, he should have been more sensitive and smart to not record something as disrespectful, even if it is in the name of humor. Weezy, you KNOW better! I like some of Wayne's music, but I've never been a huge fan. This is even more of a reason for me to dismiss all things Weezy... Fast forward to about the 2:50 mark

Weezy F. Baby just swept through the Grammy's and now he's gearing up for the release of his new rock album, entitled The Rebirth. Prom Queen is the first single from that project, with a video concept that pretty much mirrors the song. It's funny how we reject what's good for us to accept something that looks cool, but in the end we wish we would have made different choices. If hindsight is truly 20/20 then I'm sure the prom queen is kicking herself everytime she looks back. Get savvy on this...
Soulja Boy - Turn My Swag On (REMIX!)
The fact that Soulja Boy is considered a rapper is truly a tragedy, and the verses on this song only strengthen that argument. As catchy and entertaining as the hook is, this song is still absolutely horrible. The only time this joint gets airplay is in the club, and even then I wish they'd only play the hook. The fact that there are so many other B and C-Listers on this joint only attest to the fact that there's nothing substantial here. Weezy's met his match, even HE couldn't make this one hot...

Lil Wayne is definitely in the running for the Oversaturation award, but I guess that's what happens when you're the hot thing for the moment. Omarion, on the other hand, disappeared for a minute after that last flop of an album with Bow Wow that shall remain nameless for now. I've never been a huge fan of Omarion as a solo artist; his albums never moved me, but he's had a few nice songs. Comfort is his latest, and I'm kinda feelin it; it's a nice breezy joint. And speakin' of Breezy, isn't it peculiar that Omarion picked now to resurface? I can't blame him though, he didn't stand a chance against Chris...
