NEW MUSIC: Michael Jackson - This Is It [CDQ]

With the release of Michael Jackson's This Is It documentary on the horizon, new music was bound to be released. And don't worry, there's a whole vault of unreleased content that we have yet to hear. This Is It, however, is not new. It was previously recorded by Mike with his brothers years ago but was unreleased. The vocals have been re-recorded and the track was re-mastered for this release. This is a really nice, mellow type song...

Video: Michael Jackson Rehearsing 'Human Nature' For Concert Series

Check out this never-before-seen footage of Michael Jackson in rehearsals for the This Is It concert set. Here, he rehearses his performance of one of his signature hits, and one of my favorite MJ song of all time, Human Nature. This should dispel all doubts - Mike still had it, and he was gonna give it to the world one last time. This footage will be included in the This Is It feature film, hitting theaters around the globe October 28. There's some ads on here for it, make sure you click em and check it out.

The Ultimate Michael Jackson Tribute Album

"Yes, Michael Jackson was a human being but dammit he was a king! LONG LIVE THE KING!" - Madonna

It's gonna happen eventually, and with the way his records are selling, it'll be sooner rather than later: a tribute album to the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson. Covering songs by a legend is always a risk and of course there are certain MJ songs that should probably be left alone. Who would YOU put on a Michael Jackson tribute album and what song of MJ's would they cover?

Here's my list to get ya started:

Mary J Blige - Will U Be There
Chris Brown - Who Is It?
Lenny Kravitz - Give In To Me
Maroon 5 - Dirty Diana
Alicia Keys and/or Marsha -Butterflies
Justin Timberlake - Off The Wall
Musiq - Human Nature
Usher - PYT
Daughtry - Stranger In Moscow
Trey Songz - She's Out Of My Life
Destiny's Child - Wanna Be Startin Somethin'
Ne-yo - You Are Not Alone
N.E.R.D. - Black or White
Beyonce - Another Part of Me
John Mayer - The Lady In My Life
Jojo - Ben
All-Star Tribute - Man In The Mirror

Scream is a song that I think should remain untouched, but if ANYONE were to do it, Chris Brown and Rihanna.

FULL VIDEO: The VMA Tribute to Michael Jackson featuring Janet Jackson

I'mma put the fact that I'm a fan aside for a minute to tell you WHY this tribute was so epic! This was a dance tribute to a man known for his impeccable dance skills. This tribute was directed by Janet Jackson's longtime creative collaborator, dancer and choreographer Gil Duldulao. Then, the entire team alongside Janet - those aren't just ordinary dancers. Those are some of the top choreographers IN THE WORLD, including Tina Landon, Tyce Diorio, Laurie Ann Gibson, Chris Judd, Wade Robson, Nick Bass, and Misha Gabriel among others. The emotional part of all this is how Janet got to dance with her brother in front of the world one more time. We all miss Michael, and this tribute was fit for a king - long live the KING.

LL Cool J Tributes Michael Jackson - Billie Jean Dream

"This whole industry is my legacy, I'm somethin' like a phenomenon..."

LL Cool J pays tribute to the late King of Pop with Billie Jean Dream. Uh... As a fan of Michael, I appreciate the gesture, but I think LL could have done better. I'll keep the rest of my thoughts to myself and try to keep in mind that this is a tribute...

Weezy Disses Michael Jackson in Freestyle

This video was recorded on 5/16/09 BEFORE Michael Jackson passed, but in this UStream video, Lil Wayne goes in on Michael Jackson, calling him a "FAG" and referencing the Pepsi burn incident. To be real, I remember hearing this chanted as a game amongst kids when I was younger, but for someone of Wayne's age and status, he should have been more sensitive and smart to not record something as disrespectful, even if it is in the name of humor. Weezy, you KNOW better! I like some of Wayne's music, but I've never been a huge fan. This is even more of a reason for me to dismiss all things Weezy... Fast forward to about the 2:50 mark

Rest in Peace MJ.

DOWNLOAD: Mario - Human Nature

This is an amazing mix! The kid Mario goes IN over the audio of John Mayer's instrumental performance of Human Nature from the Michael Jackson Memorial Service held yesterday. I've always been a fan of Mario's vocals and this is the reason why. A fitting tribute and one of my favorite Michael Jackson songs of all time. LOVE IT!!! Be sure to check for Mario's forthcoming album And Then There Was Me, due out in September 2009 according to Mario.

Mariah Carey - I'll Be There (MJ Memorial)

I think we can grant Mariah's vocals a pass for this horrendous rendition due to the emotional circumstances...

Stevie Wonder - I Never Dreamed You'd Leave In Summer (MJ Memorial)

A most fitting and appropriate selection for the occasion. This song was a beautifully delivered tribute for a day Stevie "hoped he'd never live to see".

We can't help but love you forever Michael... (Video after the jump...)

Video: Jennifer Hudson - Will You Be There (MJ Memorial)

Jennifer Hudson sings Will You Be There at today's tribute to Michael Jackson. This song was already VERY emotional and moving, but Jennifer's rendition gives the song new life and new soul. AMAZING

We Are The World/Heal The World - Michael Jackson Tribute

The finale performance from Michael Jackson's memorial service today. I don't think anyone could hold back the tears for this. Two of Michael's biggest charity singles We Are The World and Heal the World.

John Mayer - Human Nature (MJ Memorial)

John Mayer's AMAZING and STUNNING Instrumental performance of Human Nature

Monday's Motivation Muzik: Michael Jackson - Man In The Mirror

With so much going on in the world, I felt like this was appropriate for Motivation Muzik. With Man In The Mirror, I feel like Michael Jackson taught us all that the easiest way to make a change in the world is to start with ourselves. Before we can hope to make any significant changes in the world, we have to start with ourselves. Be motivated to make positive changes within yourself and just know that the rest of the world will work itself out.

CNN Footage of Michael Jackson's Final Rehearsal

From the looks of this video, the King of Pop was definitely on his way back for a full reclamation of his crown. So to evil bloggers out there like Perez Hilton, there would have been no need for the King of Pop to try and pull a stunt to get out of his concert obligations. Check out the footage, let me know what ya think

Video: The Game Ft. Chris Brown, Diddy, Boyz II Men, Polow Da Don & Mario Winans - Better On The Other Side

Touching song and video. I don't think there will ever be too many tributes to the King. A legacy of greatness deserves honor and remembrance. I'm proud of the fellas for coming together on this song, its' a hot one...

Ne-yo - The Lady In My Life

Ne-yo really needs to hit the studio and record his version of this song. This is one of my favorite songs by Michael Jackson ever and he did an amazing job with this. Lady In My Life comes from the best selling album of all time, the infamous Thriller, created in an era where music was REAL, and quality was judged by sound, not sales. Ne-yo took his time and did this song the type of justice no other artist could have given it and as a Michael Jackson fan, I appreciate his loyalty to the original. Amazing job, rest easy Michael...

Ne-yo and Jamie Foxx - I'll Be There (Live at the 2009 BET Awards)

I made it through the whole night, but this is the moment that brought me to tears. What hurts the most for me is that all throughout my childhood and adult life, I felt attached to Michael Jackson. It takes a lot of strength, in a time like this, to stand in front of a room full of people and deliver the few words that Janet did. My prayers and the prayers of the Sound-Savvy community go out to the Jackson family in this difficult time. The entire world feels their loss and we all mourn and celebrate together.
