Artist: The Roots
Album: Rising Down
Release Date: 4.29.08

When did you first fall in love with hip-hop? Ponder that... If you appreciate true hip-hop & all it encompasses, you'll definitely enjoy this piece of artistry. Real lyrics, not that suga coated shit we're used to hearing. Black Thought & his comrades definitely brings you to a climax. I've never been a big fan of rap, but I can appreciate real music when I hear it. Realism speaks in true volumes on this album. For all those true fans of the Roots, who've been waiting for them to drop, are you satisfied?

If you're not satisfied lyrically, production wise, you'd have to literally smack the person next to you. The instrumentation is beyond vomiting; truly sick! For those consumers from the DMV & surrounding areas, you can appreciate the go-go undertone on Rising Up featuring Chrisette Michelle & DC's own Wale'. One of the many collabos featured. One might argue there are one to many collabos, and not enough lyrical content from front runners Black Thought &

?uestLove.
Pick apart the lyrics in each song, & digest them. The Roots are known to bring truth to what others classify as false. If the studio LP sounds like this, I'm in true anticipation of their live set. I definitely wanna go back to my ROOTS! All my true hip-hop heads stand up! Class is in session.
